SOME HELP, GUIDANCE, CARE & SUPPORT IN THE EARLY WEEKS:

A big part of a postpartum doula's support is taking care of the postpartum parent, with both physical and emotional support during your healing and recovery. Helping you in the early weeks as you adjust to life with your new baby. We're also there to support your whole family - partners, siblings as well as the postpartum person - with informed, nonjudgemental support for all shapes, types and sizes of families.

We would work together and collaborate on what combination of support would help you the most - it might be assistance and learning newborn care, or support with breastfeeding or bottle feeding. Maybe you need someone to hold the baby so you can get a break, take a shower or a little rest, maybe it's help with an older sibling so you can be with the baby, or support with transitioning an older toddler, or light household tasks and making sure everyone (including you!) is getting heathy meals and snacks. Maybe you want to learn baby massage or infant soothing techniques. If there is a concern beyond a doula's scope of expertise we can help refer you to other professionals, Doula's are a great resource for referrals and information, as well as emotional and physical support for you.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • We'd first talk, by phone or zoom, to see if it is a good fit and about what kind of help you need.

  • Then we would  do a contract and book some support time and work out a schedule together based on availability and needs.

  • Please Note: Postpartum Doula Support is part time and short term. It is also educational support with a certified PPD (DONA). Doulas do not treat or diagnose, they will refer you to another professional for any help beyond their scope.

  • Full Packages: Rate $55 per hour, typically with 10-12 hour minimum, booked over 1-2 weeks (all approx. tbd) for within an agreed on schedule and time period. You could add hours or extend the contract (all based on availability,)
  • Single Day/Sessions: Rate $75 an hour, typically with 3 hour minimum with an agreed on schedule/booking.
  • Deposit or payment in advance required.

  • Please note: Limited schedule/availability.
  • Preference to community or referred families, so please mention if you were referred by a family :)
  • Most people book in advance before your babies birth - but you can also reach out after your baby arrives.
